Destroy Our Future

A clothing brand blending streetwear with subversive aesthetics through a Latino perspective. The project explores Latino and urban identity, drawing from subcultures and alternative youth culture to build a distinct visual language across silhouettes, styling, music, and iconography.Led the development of the brand’s identity, storytelling, and design system across garments and media.

Destroy Our Future was founded in 2024, with its conceptual foundation developed during my time studying graphic design and printmaking in Venice, Italy. Immersed in art and architectural history, I began to reconsider my approach to making, pushing beyond introspection toward a more deliberate and confrontational practice.

Returning home marked a shift. Changes in my appearance were met with resistance, prompting a deeper examination of control, perception, and self-definition. The project emerged from this tension.

Destroy Our Future is not a call for destruction, but a refusal of the systems that attempt to regulate identity, through stereotypes, cultural expectations, and the policing of bodies. Through fashion and image-making, the work reclaims autonomy, positioning the body as both site and symbol.

Rooted in my experience as a Latino American, the brand draws from music, fashion, and visual traditions across urban and diasporic cultures in the United States. It examines the proximity between Latino communities, hip-hop, and Black cultural production, and how these relationships continue to shape contemporary aesthetics.

The visual language merges references from European Catholic iconography and Mesoamerican spirituality, recontextualized within streetwear and alternative fashion. These elements are not decorative, they function as a framework for reframing identity, transforming the body into something sacred, self-defined, and resistant.

I use digital marketing and events to expand the visual identity of D.O.F. We have worked with production teams to film videos for ad campaigns, content, and world-building initiatives. This media is used across our social platforms and continues to evolve as we create more.

As the lead designer and creative director for D.O.F., I have been responsible for scripting, planning, and directing productions. I also design all graphics and edit most of the video content.

Ultimately, the goal of Destroy Our Future as a fashion brand is growth; expanding our reach, improving production, and elevating the quality of both content and product. At its core, however, the project is about creating space: building a strong, loyal community where the work is actively engaged with and where the audience participates in the brand’s ongoing development.

A key focus has been using Destroy Our Future as a platform to connect with like-minded individuals and uplift other creatives within the community. This has included hosting events with over 50 guests, organizing pop-up markets that have tripled revenue year over year, and building connections with local community spaces.

One example of this was a food drive organized in collaboration with a local nonprofit and select market partners. Destroy Our Future helped facilitate collection and distribution efforts, delivering donations to a local food pantry in Chelsea, Massachusetts.
